Add the connector

A connector lets Claude search the collection while it answers. It only reads the public builds; it can’t see your chats or change anything.

  1. In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Prompt & Solder and paste this address, then press Add:

  4. In a chat, make sure it’s switched on in the tools menu (the + or sliders button by the message box), then just ask.

Menu names can differ slightly between Claude apps and plans. Custom connectors may need a paid Claude plan. Once added on the web, it also works in the Claude phone apps.

Add the skill

A skill teaches Claude how to use Prompt & Solder well: search with good keywords, check each build really fits, cite sources and keep its own ideas separate. It works best alongside the connector.

  1. Download the skill (zip)
  2. In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and make sure Code execution and file creation is on.
  3. Under Skills, choose Upload skill and pick the zip. Don’t unzip it first.

Without the connector, the skill reads the public search address below over the web, which Claude sometimes declines to do on its own. If that happens, paste a search link into the chat.

Then ask things like

  • “Using Prompt & Solder, what have people done with an old Kindle?”
  • “Search Prompt & Solder: my printer has no driver for macOS. Any options?”
  • “Which smart TV debloats on Prompt & Solder went wrong, and why?”
