The full story

Tax Reborn is an offline US personal-tax app for Windows, Mac and Android from the maintainer of Ledger Reborn. REA was used to trace how existing tax software arrives at its numbers. The calculations themselves were written independently and checked separately.

Preview 10 handles the alternative minimum tax (AMT) path from start to finish, among other things. It works out the liability, keeps it after a restart and fills all 29 lines of Form 6251 Part III in the official IRS 2025 PDF. Each release comes with installers, source code and recorded test runs on every platform. It is still a preview, so treat its output as something to check, not to file blindly.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count). The Claude connector only receives the search words your Claude sends it.
