The full story
Spelunkr offers 24 themed "cable TV channels" of forgotten videos, about 2,700 hours in all, on a synced schedule so everyone lands in the middle of the same programme. Videos stream directly from the Internet Archive in a plain HTML video element, with no proxy or copy, and there are about 200 public domain or Creative Commons tracks for station breaks.
The codebase is about 87,000 lines over 670 commits in eight months, roughly 30 days of work, nearly all done with Claude Code. It has over 850 unit tests and 160 browser tests.
