The full story
A smash-burger restaurant owner built Pulse rather than combine several separate business apps. The private system covers staff tasks, finance, stock deliveries, central-kitchen recipes, WhatsApp messaging and HR. The owner says staff use it every day.
Claude Code helped develop it over more than 250 commits in under a year, starting with Opus 4.5. The owner used later models to audit the code and made small changes around staff feedback. Screens initially resembled the existing paper process, then changed gradually as the team became comfortable. Keeping recipes on a system controlled by the restaurant was another reason for building it.
