The full story
Plattenhase began with a record-shop problem: an interesting sleeve does not explain what an unfamiliar album sounds like or where it fits. The maker built a SwiftUI app that scans a barcode or accepts an album, artist or genre, then supplies musical context and listening links. A shopping list, collection catalogue and recommendations followed.
Claude chat helped with architecture and specifications, Claude Design with mock-ups, and Claude Code with implementation. The maker reports using it for more than 150 albums. Requests go through the maker's API gateway, with server-side tester limits and a spending cap.
The TestFlight test requires an iPhone on iOS 27 or later and is limited to 50 places. German is the default; English, Dutch and French are included, but English has only been lightly tested. The maker reports an average AI cost of about US$0.11 per album for their own usage, rather than a purchase price for the app.
