The full story
Optocam Zero is a compact digital camera made from a Raspberry Pi Zero, off-the-shelf parts and 3D-printed pieces, inspired by toy cameras like the Kodak Charmera. The maker says the software was made using Claude.
It uses an autofocus camera module and has eight photo filters, a 1.4-inch screen with a 15 to 20fps preview, USB-C charging and a swappable 14500 battery good for 70 to 80 minutes of use. Photos are transferred through a custom hotspot interface. The print files, software installer and a step-by-step build guide are on GitHub.
