The full story
This is a careful static analysis of Ubuntu's netcat-openbsd 1.234-1 binary, the standard nc networking tool, using REA and Ghidra. Nothing was run, and every claim is backed by an artefact in the repository. The conclusion: it's the stock, unmodified Debian build, stripped, with modern hardening enabled and no TLS support. A function map, capabilities and strings are documented, with steps to reproduce.
