Usage dashboard on an old phone or e-ink screen

An unofficial open-source dashboard shows Claude Code and Codex usage limits on a spare phone, tablet or small screen. It runs a small server on a computer, and the device connects over the same Wi-Fi. It has a mode for older e-ink Kobo browsers.

The full story

This is an unofficial, open-source dashboard showing how much of your Claude Code and Codex usage limits you've used, built to sit on a spare phone, tablet or old Kobo e-reader. It runs on your own Windows or macOS computer with Node.js 18 or newer (no npm install). Other devices on the same trusted Wi-Fi pair with it by scanning a QR code.

The figures come from local files: Claude Code's status-line usage cache and the newest Codex quota snapshot in your local session logs. Missing data shows setup help instead of a misleading zero. A dedicated Kobo page suits the e-reader's basic, black-and-white browser. The README warns that the local network link uses plain HTTP, so the pairing code should be kept private and the optional HTTPS methods used on untrusted networks.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count). The Claude connector only receives the search words your Claude sends it.
