The full story
A non-programmer with an older PC proposes a community challenge: an open-source, cross-platform alternative to HelpNDoc. HelpNDoc is a Windows-only tool for writing help manuals once and publishing them as web help, PDF, ePub, Kindle, Word and CHM.
The wish list is a light WYSIWYG editor with a table-of-contents panel and single-source export. It must run on Linux, Windows and macOS, and stay light enough for low-end machines. The author suggests it would be a good real-world test of REA and Claude Code. It's a proposal, not a build.
