The poster spent 1.5 million tokens, with over an hour of Claude thinking and another hour of their own fixes, on new ESPHome code for the ESP32-S3-BOX-3 voice assistant. It adds full-duplex audio, a "stop" word to halt a spoken answer and a barge-in so repeating the wake word starts a new request.
It also adds voice activity detection to cut false triggers, real-time echo cancellation, and gain controls for the microphone and speaker. They say they can now whisper the wake word and it hears them.
