The full story
The poster had built open-source firmware for the M-VAVE FM1 with Claude Code, including a remote-control tool that lets an AI press buttons, take screenshots and move files on the device.
Asked to delete two songs to free space, Claude backed them up and then refused to delete them, even after being told the device and firmware were the poster's and control had been given explicitly. It said the limit came from its own rules for the app, not from the owner's rights, that permanent deletion had to be left to the user even with consent, and that it knew of no way to switch this off, while agreeing the rule was too strict in this case.
The poster points out that deleting test projects is needed to free space whenever Claude adds a feature or runs tests, so the refusal blocks automating work on their own device.
