The full story
New to Home Assistant, the poster used Claude to help turn a Raspberry Pi that only ran Pi-hole into a hub that pulls in all the data it can about the family's off-grid solar system, with a dashboard to help make decisions. The Pi now runs from an old 500 GB hard drive instead of an SD card, and copies the whole drive image to the SD card daily as a backup.
They say Claude had "annoying habits" and had to be reined in a couple of times when it went down rabbit holes, but the result is clean and usable. They could not get some Eve smart plugs managed by Apple Home to pair.
