An I3C bus on a Nordic chip, tested by Claude driving an oscilloscope
Claude controlled an R&S oscilloscope over LAN to read I3C traffic while iterating on an emulated I3C bus for a Nordic chip, which worked the same day.
The full story
A team needed an I3C connection from a Nordic chip with no I3C support, so tried emulating it on the chip's small peripheral processor. Rather than pay for an analyser plugin, they found their R&S MXO 3 oscilloscope could decode I3C and be remote-controlled over LAN.
They gave Claude the oscilloscope's commands, and it switched the scope between functions, read back samples, reported its readings and iterated on the implementation. It worked the same day, and they now have a fully functional I3C bus.
