The full story
A first ESP32 project: a monitor for the water tanks on the maker's family farm in Brazil. Ultrasonic sensors measure tank levels (one tank is live so far, with firmware for three), alongside temperature, humidity, pressure and rain sensors, a clock for internet outages and an 18650 battery backup.
Data goes to Firebase with an installable web dashboard and optional Telegram alerts for low level, sudden drops and a full tank. The maker had a lot of help from ChatGPT and Claude for planning and debugging, but did the build and on-site testing themselves.
