The full story
Final Approach Radio layers recorded air-traffic-control audio over lo-fi music. Its maker collected recordings at three Chicago airports using a magnetic-mount antenna, an airband filter, an RTL-SDR and SDR++. The site lets listeners adjust the balance between radio and music.
The launch post credits Claude Code with much of the editing. The recordings replace the live feeds used by an earlier service, so this version is not a live air-traffic feed. The author reports using it as background listening for about two months before sharing the launch.
