The full story
The failure occurred when disabling Wi-Fi left web or UDP sockets holding network buffers during interface teardown. The contribution includes Claude's analysis of the call paths and changes how the web server and UDP server are closed and reopened.
The contributor marks both ESP8266 and ESP32 tests as working. This repairs an existing crash; the source does not say Claude caused the original failure.
