The full story
A physicist with limited web development experience built Scopa AI over winter break: a browser version of the classic Italian card game with CPU opponents, opponents played by Claude, GPT or Gemini, and multiplayer. He says Claude Code wrote the entire codebase and he wrote maybe 5% by hand, including the game engine, React components, a WebSocket server for multiplayer and the bots.
The strongest CPU level, "Esperto", uses Monte Carlo Tree Search. When he let Claude play against it, Claude could win sometimes but mostly lost, as did the other models.
