A Petri net editor rebuilt after a class's online tool went down
When the free online Petri net editor used in a university course stopped working a week before a deadline, a student rebuilt it with Claude and loaded the group's file.
The full story
An engineering student's class used a free online editor to build Petri nets, and a week before the group's final project was due the website stopped working. They had their finished net saved as a .npn file but no way to check it. The student, an experienced software engineer, built a replacement with Claude that mimics the original site as closely as possible, trying out the /grill-me and /handoff skills from a Matt Pocock talk along the way.
They loaded the .npn file, made minor improvements to the net and handed in the assignment the next day. The original site was still down, so they shared the tool with classmates. It is open source under the MIT licence.
