The full story
Inspired by a native Plex client for LG TVs, the poster used Claude Code to build two open source projects for their LG OLED B4. Jellyfin Native is written in Rust and draws its interface with OpenGL ES 2 rather than a browser, using the TV's hardware media pipeline and FFmpeg libraries for playback.
They report a 60 FPS interface that is ready about 0.4 seconds after launch, seeking in around 0.6 seconds, and playback of formats such as FLAC and TrueHD. A second project, Minimal Home, replaces LG's default home screen with a minimal launcher.
