A GPU stuck at 60 W fixed, and a diagnostic site built from it

Claude and ChatGPT helped find Windows 11 power profiles holding a GPU at 60 W, lifting one game from about 90 to 160-170 FPS, and Claude Code then built a free diagnostic site.

The full story

The poster noticed their GPU sitting locked at 60 W in games when it could reach 145 W. They had ChatGPT and Claude read their CapFrameX captures and DxDiag reports, which showed Windows 11 was changing power profiles on its own. After fixing that and a few more power profile settings, FPS in Silent Hill 2 went from around 90 to 160-170.

They then built a free site, 1pct.net, with Claude Code over about a week. You upload a report file and it flags anything abnormal about where performance is going. They kept decisions and lessons on disk as numbered files so work survived session resets.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.
