The full story
Once a homelab grows past a couple of machines, the hard part is remembering where everything lives. This section of the Hand-Me-Down Homelab book builds a one-letter launcher menu for 14 hosts and a script that runs checks across all 16 servers at once, with care taken to tell a missing SSH key from a machine that's simply down.
It then compares that human-run approach with giving Claude Code reach across the fleet through locked-down, read-only tools.
