Radio Globe: ADS-B and AIS decoded in the browser over WebUSB
Claude Opus 5.5 recompiled a terminal ADS-B and AIS monitor to WebAssembly so an RTL-SDR can be decoded in Chrome and shown on a 3D globe.
The full story
The maker had a terminal program, Radio Watch, for monitoring ACARS, ADS-B and AIS with their RTL-SDR Blog V4. Inspired by WebUSB demos, they asked Claude Opus 5.5 to recompile it for a WebAssembly backend and build the web side around a 3D map with craft diagrams and tracks.
The result decodes straight from the SDR in the browser without relying on a flight-tracking API, so in theory it could work with no internet. It needs a Chrome-type browser for WebUSB, and the web version leaves out some things the terminal app shows, such as full ACARS text.
