A PS2 emulator running in a browser tab

Claude (Opus 5.5) did most of the programming to make PCSX2's core run in the browser as TabStationToo.

The full story

Built on PCSX2, the emulator runs in the page: you pick a BIOS and a folder of your own disc images and files stay on your computer. It was tested with games including Guitar Hero, GTA San Andreas and Resident Evil 4, on an M1 Max Mac and a Ryzen Linux system.

The two makers decided what to build and reported what was wrong, while Claude wrote most of the code. A CLAUDE.md file set the rules, and Claude built a browser-free version of the emulator so it could boot the BIOS and benchmark without them.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count).
