The full story
With no prior experience in the field, the author used Claude Code to build PSXRecomp, a static recompiler for the original PlayStation. It translates a game's MIPS code ahead of time into native code rather than emulating it. The technical demo is Tomba!, running (as a work in progress) as a native Windows application. The article documents how Claude helped with the static analysis and recompilation.
